Any number of millennia ago, the sun went to sleep, someone lit a fire and told, for the very first time, the story of what had happened to them. The people around the fire, spellbound by that first tale, wouldn't go to sleep. Then it came writing, theater, the printing press, film, television, and that little glowing rectangle that fits in one hand. Our species was born telling stories, and still today a good story scares our sleep away.

A few Enlightenment scientists decided we were rational beings and named us Homo sapiens (turn on the news and see how wrong they were). We know it's stories, not reason, that make us human. To correct that historic mistake, we decided to call ourselves:

We are a Colombian house that develops intellectual property for film and television. We were born in 2019; our portfolio runs from thrillers and docudramas to sports biopics and factual formats. We develop original content from Medellín for the whole Ibero-American market.

When time was young, stories traveled from mouth to mouth; they drifted and changed like sparks on the wind. Millennia later they were carved into rock, and they have come down to us because they were loved, copied, told and retold, century after century.

Every revolution in technology changes our relationship with stories. In our story, the AI revolution is a plot twist: we live in a world flooded with content, noise, and uncertainty. Some speak of the end of the world. We remember that the world has ended and begun many times.

It's in uncertain times that stories ground us most. What stories do we want to tell ourselves about the future?

At Homo Narrator · Fabrica we work to forge a story where technology is aligned with our values. We are an AI-native company in love with the ancient witchcraft of storytelling. Here, technology takes care of the boring paperwork while we stick to telling stories (some would just call it gossip).

In our telling, AI never replaces the human artist, it amplifies them. At Fabrica we design software for creators that guards their attention, cuts the friction of the shallow, and lets the creator sink into deep creative states, hear the ancient voice of the muses, and write new stories.

Who's telling this story?

Mateo Sepúlveda Gómez, Homer's great-great-great-(and so on)-grandson. He was initiated into drama in youth theater, then trained in the Meisner acting technique at the EICTV in Cuba (2019). As a writer, he has developed a method that combines acting techniques with the tools of Jungian inner work. A martial artist, diver, and explorer, Mateo writes about what he loves and loves what he writes.

Why tell stories from Colombia, and from Medellín?

The Colombia Film Fund (FFC), run by Proimágenes Colombia, gives you back in cash 40% of what you spend on audiovisual services in the country, and 20% of what you spend on logistics services. The CINA (Audiovisual Investment Certificate) is an income tax credit worth 35% of that same spending, and it's a transferable security: it can be sold on the securities market to anyone who files income taxes in Colombia. For a film or a series, the minimum you need to spend in the country is about US$856,000. Applications are open all year, until the money runs out.

Medellín is the only city in the country with a cash rebate of its own. It's called the ICAM, it's run by the Medellín Film Commission under the city's economic development office, and it gives back between 10% and 20% of what you spend with vendors in the city. In 2025 it handed out about half a million US dollars among 140 projects.
